Old Stuff - I heard a little voice....know what it said?

  • I heard a little voice....know what it said?

Beer.  That was it.  Just "beer".  You really can't get much more straight forward than that.  So I listened.  I have beer, Johnny, and a fan…..life is good.  If a bit dull.  Ok fine it's knock-down-flat-on-your-ass BORING.  Tomorrow I get to go out with a bunch of people I don't know though…..whoop whoop.   Ay….where's my internal optimist?  It'll be fun.  :D  see?
Anyway I went to Joes cousins Pampered Chef open house tonight.  She's stepping into the business world lucky her.  So I bought a bunch of stuff, god….. you know the best way to be a pampered chef?  To not have to cook, now that would be a pampering.  Actually I love cooking, I would just like to do it without the "what's the red thing" and "I'm NOT going to eat that" s.  I guess the pampering would be to not cook for kids lmao.  I did snag a recipe for a salad that I think I'll bring to my parents Midsummer party though, I'm always looking for something worthy.  Anyway, the aunties were there, and me, buying stuff we didn't need to support the entrepreneurial spirit.  Bekah….if you stumble upon this…..I LO-OOOVE YOU……

The boys had their preschool graduation a few days ago.  They were supposed to dress as what they want to be when they grow up.  One wanted to be a tyrannosaurus and the other a super hero construction worker piano player.  Alrighty.  Through my supermom powers I directed them towards construction worker and firefighter.  By the time of the ceremony though they ended up as both being firefighters.  Oh well.  One girl wanted to be a mermaid.  I really felt like piping up and telling her how hard that was to become and I know because I went to mermaid school for awhile.  Obviously I didn't finish.  But they all graduated and now the boys are upset that school is over and they can't go back.  Ppphhhbbbbllllltttttttt.  Tough.  You wanna know what I think they are going to be?  Isaac is going to be a chiropractor/naturopath and Jake a playboy.  Not that I'll ever tell Jake that lol.

I really have to hit the yard tomorrow, I've been putting the back off due to dog bombs but I can't anymore, the kids are going to get lost.  Good thing I suspect the van of having troubles, otherwise I'd head off  with the kids to somewhere and drag them through the wilderness.  I guess I can just throw them into the back yard lmao.  See who survives.  Unfortunately the front is more fun to work on so I do.  Speaking of, I really should be sitting out there right now, It's gorgeous out there.  Ok, I'm going to park my ass and my beer on my patio and look at the stars.  Drive by and I'll wave.  Promise.

    I like ugly, happy people.

Think about it.....if someone is really ugly and they're happy how can you not like that?

Old Stuff - Second time around.....not near so long as the first, blast it all

     June 1st, 2007

Alrighty, second attempt since I already wrote a novel only to have it get lost in cyberspace.  I really don't like it when that happens, how can you rewrite ramblings?  They're kind of a one time occurrence.  I know I was questioning why only one of my children will dance at me, one just doesn't like to and the others just look at me like "poor, crazy woman".  I personally am not a dancer of the public sort, which is really too bad when you think about it.  I hear good money can be made…hmmm…..nah.  Just give me a child and kitchen I guess.  I'm gonna have to accept and live with the fact that Jake is my only jiving child.  Life is so unfair.  Same thing with hats, I always wanted to have kids so I could put funny hats on them, again with the "poor, crazy lady" looks.

I bought these shoes called FitFlops, supposed to make my legs long and lean.  I'll take the lean part but I really don't want to be taller.  I bought them because they were so blasted comfy but I'll take leanness as a side effect.  Ok, I lied…..both boys just danced with hats on.  Go figure.
  • Man, kids are thought deleters, can't think anymore so I guess I'm done.  Bye.
  • Old Stuff - Boys Stink

    Jul 1, 2007

    Boys stink

    Current mood:contemplative
Because I'm a girl I speak from my perspective…..boys stink.  I was standing at Walgreens today in line getting the last minute crap for Anna to take to camp, cheap flashlight that may last the few days, flipflops to serve as "shoes that can get wet", 25 cent water bottle because I hate water bottles and always end up donating them to Goodwill, and a disposable Pooh Camera because the two real ones she has have never worked.  Anyway, I'm standing there and there's this middle aged couple in front of me, the lady sees some straws that flavor milk when you drink through them, strawberry, chocolate whatever your fancy, and got all stoked, like "I haven't seen these in forever" and obviously got some flavored milk straw rush of a good memory from them.  Whatever, they were only $2 for a box.  She never even asked to get them and the guy goes "you don't need those", and she goes "maybe we can get them for Jeremy", and I'm thinking "prick".  I think that a lot lately. I motioned to the lady like I'd toss a box in the basket and she laughed and said she'd come back later and get some.  OK….here's a question, why can't the lady get the flavored milk straws?  They had a basket of other crap so it wasn't poverty, you know if the man wanted something he would just get it.  Why does she have to come back to get something?  If flavored milk straws float her boat isn't it a cheaper happy than the assorted pharmaceuticals that are so popular and don't really seem to work?  Pre-deployment I would do that, figure it was easier.  What's a little self-respect anyway?  Post-deployment I haven't given up control of the money yet and plan on never being without my own again.  Only took me two hubbies to figure that one out.  First hubby's shining moments of generosity were the $1.25 string of beads I "didn't need".  No I didn't "need" them, I wanted them and for pity's sake it was our honeymoon, camping lmao.  The second stand out huh moment was the 75 cent strudel at the Octoberfest.  Um….who "needs" a piece of strudel anyway?  I "wanted" a piece of strudel.  Did I mention that was first hubby?  As in no more hubby, I just moved on and married another one….smaa-aaaart.
I may as well keep the stinky boy thing going.  I'm being punished again….I dared to question bitchymilf87 and lisamona and their presence in the computer, now mind you I don't care who or what he does, my only request is that he tell me and I have no confidence that he will.  Hence the silent treatment………not really such a bad deal anymore.  I'm just trying to decide if I call and see if he wants us up for the fourth, go as planned, or just ignore him and take the kids to the beach.  Hmmmmm…..  You know, the whole MILF concept is just weird.  Why would anyone want to be one?  And why in my hubby's opinion does he call hooker looking gals MILFS?  Isn't the concept that they are MOMS and therefore mom-like?  Moms don't look like hookers as a rule.  Do they?  Ok, shaking myself off here and moving on.  Actually think I'm done for now, I may just sit back with Slightly Stoopid and a cup of coffee and look at the mess surrounding me.

5-31-2007 One reason it's a good thing to not have anyone to kiss.......

......when you get woken up at midnight and can't go back to sleep it's ok to get up and snack on marinated garlic.  I'm sure there are other reasons, but right now that's the one that strikes me as "WOW".
So, here I am, after refraining with difficulty from hitting the blog page all day, blogging.  I sure have missed it lol.  The boys and I went downtown for the wednesday market thing and did our wander.  Got some blackberries to snack on with the peas instead of strawberries this time,  radishes, taters, carrots and bought myself a bouquet of sweet peas.  I'm thinking after all this time of lusting after the thought of the boys going to school next year I just may actually miss my buddies a bit.  Nah.  Maybe.

Let's see, went and bought a few pencils and risked life and limb getting around the safety tape set up blocking the sidewalk off.  You know....personally I think I'd rather risk whatever they're protecting us from than drag two 5 year olds while kicking a balloon out into traffic and back. Yeah I know, backtrack and uses the cross walk....didn't want to.  We went back to Ma Valise and had the lady try to figure out what CD was playing last wednesday lol.  She was very nice.  I ended up getting one but didn't figure out which one I actually was looking for.  Gives me a reason to try again  :D.  Went over to the Little Cannoli, didn't get a cannoli and I could use a little cannoli.  If you cannoli what I mean.....heeheehee.  Geesh, I am tired.

Oh....I told my Mom about the tattoo, I figured it would be better than the "you never tell me anything"  if she ever catches a glimpse of my tuckus.  Which she shouldn't but you never know lol.  Anyway...future catastrophe averted.  I love my tuckus turtles.

    ay.....g'night.....

    A New Computer

Hi y'all.......I don't have a new computer.  I know someone who just got one.....but it wasn't me.  I guess Bob Stanton also got a new compter.  Here's what he has to say.

Guest post written by Bob Stanton
The other day I finally purchased a new desktop computer. My wife and I had an old computer from many years ago that just remained in the corner of the living room, collecting dust. Our new computer is incredible, and it's given us a chance to become a little more connected with the world. It seems like a great many things revolve around the internet today, so it's great to be on the same level. My wife has enjoyed it for finding recipes, new books, and coupons for shopping trips.
I've used it for a variety of things, including online games. I can't believe the graphics on these new computers. Additionally, my speakers are so crisp in sound that I don't even need my new hearing aids from hearingaids.miracle-ear.com. It's a fantastic entertainment experience! When things get a little quiet around the house, I can now use the computer to enjoy a game or find information on any subject that piques my interest. This laptop is definitely one of the better investments I've made in quite some time. It looks like we are both going to get a lot of use out of it.

Fresh new pillow shams for my bed

Guest post written by Michelle Parsons

I've had my bedding for a few years now and I'm still loving it. But, the thing is that the pillow shams that came with it are pretty awful because they're just faded and worn looking. I'm a little confused as to why the comforter itself doesn't look like that, so I decided to just make some new pillow shams instead of finding a whole new bedding set.

I have a sewing machine but I barely ever use it. I thought that this would be a good excuse to actually put it to use and get my money's worth out of it. So I found some pretty easy patterns and directions online with my GETCLEARWIRELESSINTERNET that I'm working on putting together.

I took one of my old pillow shams to the crafts and fabrics store and found a few different fabrics that are solid and the same colors as some of the floral details from my bedding. I thought that having those different colors would definitely be more visually interesting. I just hope it doesn't end up looking like an obvious home ec class project.
